Okay, we all know that you can have a creature that is not a vampire, or werewolf, or wizard, or witch/warlock, or human.
Some of the more common types you can pick are:
Fairies Elves Centaurs Werecats
Those are just classics, really. But if you have a different idea, just be sure to PM me first.
Other magical creatures can pick sides in the war that is brewing, be loners, or just be a rider, drifting from side to side, or distributing special weapons or whatever that they can provide.
In turn, the side that they pick to be with can provide protection from enemies, whatever they like.
So if your character is an outlaw or something, they would pick a group of the typical magical creatures[vampires, etc] that might shelter them in return for like, they're skill as a blacksmith, or something like that.
It's just how the world goes round, i suppose.
Some magical creatures can own shops and stuff too, like Francois, the elf, owning the Purple Mushroom.
DEMONS
Demons are not actual physical things. They are personified evil, and sub-categories. For example, there might be a demon that is ENVY personified, or LUST personified. Demons are like a more extreme, grounded versiosn of poltergeists, which are mischief spirits. So, doing something like driving a stake through a demon would not harm it, since they don't have physical bodies. They CAN change the appearance of their soul to look like something, however. An example would be Silence's demon, Staf. As a demon, she looks like a cross between a person and a sea-creature. The demon is not actually a sea-creature; she has changed the shape of her soul to look like this.
I've neglected the whole demon category immensely, and now that you guys are taking an interest, I'm going to try and etch in as many details as I can.
So each demon CAN be injured, but not in a "oh i stab you with this sword" kind of way. If they're in a physical form, then it will take a very small hit on their power, but very small. The way demons are hurt is by either: -outwitting them or -lowering their magic or -expelling them back to the demon realms
By lowering how much magic they have, you lower their health. Now, how to do this you ask? Well, my friends, you find their one weakness. For example, a fire demon may have a weakness for water. So, you trap them under the water until they are so weak that they vanish back to the demon realm.
We all know that you can summon demons, of course. REAL demons can only be summoned by very powerful magical beings; the only real creatures that can do this successfully are witches and warlocks, and powerful wizards. Witches and warlocks refuse to work with demons, knowing their tricky ways; demons often outsmart their summoner into getting whatever they want. They also don't like to meddle with evil magic. As for wizards, only the Monarch and Regal have any real power to summon a real demon, and they often call upon the same one. Kind of like a sadistic pet, if you will. Other wizards can summon small, imp-like demons, that are not that powerful, and rely on mischief more than power. However, these imp-demons are not to be laughed at. They can be very useful; their small size can allow them to sneak around, and they can bewitch glassy objects to let you spy on anyone or any place you wish. When you have been spying on the glass for too long, however, the imp will start to become weak and break the spell. This act of watching through clear objects[water can be used too] is called Le verre Fixe, or, Glass Gazing. Powerful, real demons tend to bully the imps, and trap them in torture bubbles. That's another way to injure a demon.. Only another demon can cause true harm to another.
Summoning demons is difficult. Depending on what kind of demon you want to summon, the processes differ. If you want to conjure an imp, you would only recite the spell in the ancient language, with candles in a shape-- usually a star-- with a chalk star drawn a foot away for you to stand in while you summon them. To conjure a big demon, make your stars bigger, and your own star about a yard away. The spell to summon them is often very long and complicated-- one wrong word and the demon is able to escape. Sometimes, if it's a more famous, very powerful demons, sacrifices are made. Most wizards stray from those, however, because they are very smart. When first summoning a demon, you have to get them to repeat oaths in the ancient language that they are bound to follow. However, what most wizards don't realize is that demons are experts at finding loopholes.
If there is even an inch of the star outline not occupied by a candle, the demon can escape and reak havoc.
So demons are tricky and this is a lot of information, but here you have it. Demons.
